Upcoming ELF Forest Walks as Part of the GPAG Showing – Our Forest

As Part of the GPAG Showing – Our Forest – (Aug. 17 – Sept. 21)  …. ELF is giving three forest walks on the dates below…

August 31, Sunday 1-3pm: Guided Forest Walk through sections of the Elphinstone Community Health Trail and the Forest Sign Walk Trail.

September 7th Sunday 1-3pm: Guided Forest Walk through sections of the Elphinstone Community Health Trail and the Forest Sign Walk Trail.

September 14th 1-3pm: Guided Forest Walk through sections of the Elphinstone Community Health Trail and the Forest Sign Walk Trail.

Meet up the B&K logging road, under the power lines, at the entrance to the Equestrian parking lot, 1pm. Dress Accordingly and bring water and snacks. This is a moderate level hike.

<-August 24,Sunday, 12:45pm-3pm: Meet at Roberts Creek Hall, 12:45 to carpool to a nearby forest. “Sacred Song in Sacred Space” Facilitated by Jill Conway, Song Weaver and Mark Trevis, Peace Heartist. Come experience the forest in a unique way through a co-creative presentation to honour the original song and story keepers of this beautiful land.

– August 28,Thursday 2-4pm: Stephen Murphy, www-woodwideweb A Mushroom Workshop. Marvelous organisms with their fascinating ability for cleansing the earth.

<-August 31, Sunday 1-3pm: Guided Forest Walk, various guides. Take a guided hike in the forest on Mt Elphinstone, with stories and performances along the way. Meet on the B&K logging road at the Equestrian parking lot, 1pm.

-September 7th, Sunday 1-3pm: “Essence of Our Forest”, Barb Higgins Xwu’p’alich, and Robyn Hume. Presentation of poems and stories along with plant healing wisdom, written for the old growth forest.

<-September 7th Sunday 1-3pm: Guided Forest Walk, various guides. Take a guided hike in the forest on Mt Elphinstone, with stories and performances along the way. Meet up the B&K logging road, under the power lines, at the Equestrian parking lot, 1pm.>

– September 11th, 2pm: “Out of Bounds: A Panel Discussion: “Mentors, Materials and Methods.” Members of the group share the roots of their inspiration and how they work.
– September 13th 2-4pm: Jill Conway and Friends, “Spoken Word and Simple Song” This event highlights the literary and lyrical muse of an eclectic group of coastal writers. Just as the forest offers a rich element of biodiversity, so does this presentation weave a multifaceted tapestry of words.

– September 14th 1-3pm: Robyn Hume and Barb Higgins Xwu’p’alich; “Essence of Plant Magic Through Song, Drumming and Story” With singer Holly Higgins, and a collection of drummers performing.

<-September 14th 1-3pm: Guided Forest Walk, various guides. Take a guided hike in the forest on Mt Elphinstone, with stories and performances along the way. Meet on the B&K logging road at the Equestrian parking lot, 1pm.>

-September 15th, 1-3pm: Leonie Croy of Sunshine Coast in Transition Initiative, Dana Wilson filmaker, Kym Chi of One Straw Society. A short film of our Forest, ties with living sustainably from a transition viewpoint.
